Shanxi beat defending champions Liaoning and climb to second place

Shanxi Loongs Edge Out Liaoning in Thrilling Basketball Showdown! 🏀

Hey basketball fans! 🏀 Guess what? The Shanxi Loongs just had an amazing victory over the defending champions, the Liaoning Flying Leopards! 🐲 They won by just one point, with a final score of 95-94. Isn’t that incredible?

The game was super exciting from start to finish. In the first quarter, Liaoning’s Zhang Zhenlin passed the ball to Dezmine Wells, who scored a three-pointer! 🎯 That put Liaoning ahead by 2 points early on.

But Shanxi’s Zhang Ning wasn’t going to let that stop him. He scored a team-high 22 points! One of his coolest moments was when he made a fade-away jumper (that’s a tricky shot where you jump backward while shooting) even while being fouled! 😮

There were some serious blocks and dunks too! Ibrahima Fall Faye tried to make a lay-up (a close-up shot near the basket), but Han Dejun blocked it! 🖐️ Then Zhang Zhenlin of Liaoning made an awesome two-handed slam dunk, making the score 48-46 for Liaoning.

In the fourth quarter, the game got even more intense. Shanxi was leading 87-79. Wells from Liaoning was on fire, scoring a whopping 40 points in the game! 🔥 He raced from one end of the court to the other, slicing through the defense like it was nothing.

With only 46 seconds left, Brandon Goodwin of Shanxi made a fantastic pass to Liu Chuanxing, putting Shanxi ahead 95-92. ⏰ The tension was high! Liaoning was just one point behind with three seconds to go. But then, Goodwin made a super important steal, grabbing the ball and securing the victory for Shanxi! 🏆

Elsewhere in the league:

  • The Beijing Ducks flew past the Tianjin Pioneers.
  • The Shanghai Sharks overpowered the Guangzhou Loong Lions.
  • The Qingdao Eagles crushed the Nanjing Monkey Kings with a score of 118-88.
