Sun Long Zooms to Gold in Men’s 500m! 🥇

China’s speedster Sun Long raced to victory in the men’s 500-meter event at the 2024/25 ISU Short Track Speed Skating World Tour on Saturday! ⛸️💨

Sun crossed the finish line in just 40.155 seconds, beating Canada’s Steven Dubois, who took the silver, and fellow Chinese skater Liu Shaoang, who grabbed the bronze. What an exciting race! 🏁

But that’s not all! Sun Long also skated his way to a bronze medal in the men’s 1,500-meter final. He was just behind South Korea’s Park Ji-won, who won gold with a time of 2 minutes 16.776 seconds, and Canada’s William Dandjinou, who took silver. Way to go, Sun! 🥉✨

Sun said after his amazing performances, “I tried my best to stay focused in each race today and keep improving. The gold belongs to our whole team. Despite the ups and downs, our team will get better and better!” 💪🇨🇳

Exciting Wins for Canada 🇨🇦

In the women’s events, Canada’s Danae Blais zoomed to gold in the 1,000-meter race with a time of 1 minute 29.678 seconds! 🥇

The Canadian team also shined in the women’s 3,000-meter relay, winning gold with a time of 4 minutes 10.948 seconds. Congratulations to them! 🎉

On Friday, Canada broke the world record in the 2,000-meter mixed team relay during the quarterfinals. Even though they didn’t make it to the final race, setting a world record is super cool! 🌟
