China's women lose to Mongolia 21-19 (OT) at FIBA 3x3 World Cup

Overtime Thriller: China’s Women’s Team Narrowly Defeated by Mongolia

Hey sports fans! 🏀

Did you hear about the super exciting basketball game at the FIBA 3×3 World Cup in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia? The Chinese women’s team played against the host nation, Mongolia, and it was a nail-biter! 😮

The game was so close that it went into overtime! That’s when the score is tied at the end of the game, and the teams play a little longer to see who wins.

China started off strong, using their height to their advantage. They grabbed more rebounds, which means they caught the ball more often after someone missed a shot. But by halftime, they were in a bit of trouble because they had too many fouls. Fouls happen when players break the rules, like pushing or hitting another player.

When there were just 20 seconds left in the game, the score was tied at 17-17! Zhang Wanglai from China made a fantastic drive to the basket and scored, putting China ahead. But then Mongolia got two free throws because of a foul, and they made both shots, taking the lead back.

In an exciting move, Zhang forced a jump ball, which meant both teams had their hands on the ball at the same time. China got the ball back! Zhang rushed to the basket again and scored, tying the game at 19-19 and sending it into overtime! 🚀

In overtime, Mongolia managed to score two quick points, winning the game 21-19. It was a thrilling match, but unfortunately, this means China didn’t make it to the quarterfinals this time.

Even though they didn’t win, the Chinese team played with lots of heart and gave us an amazing game to watch! Great job to both teams! 👏
