Hey tennis fans! ๐ŸŽพ

Have you heard the exciting news? China’s rising tennis star, Wang Xinyu, has reached her first-ever grass-court semifinal at the WTA Berlin Open! ๐ŸŒŸ

On Friday, Wang faced Spain’s Paula Badosa, one of the top players in the world. Wang started the match with incredible energy, winning the first set 6-1 by breaking Badosa’s serve three times! That’s like scoring three goals in a row in soccer! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

Unfortunately, at the start of the second set, Badosa had to stop playing because of a right hip injury. We hope she gets better soon! ๐Ÿค•

Wang’s journey to the semifinals has been amazing. She had to play extra matches in the qualifying rounds just to get into the main tournament. Along the way, she surprised everyone by defeating some of the world’s top players! ๐ŸŒ

She won against two-time Wimbledon runner-up Ons Jabeur from Tunisia and World No. 16 Daria Kasatkina from Russia. But the biggest surprise was when she defeated one of the world’s top players, Coco Gauff from the United States, with a score of 6-3, 6-3! It was her first time ever beating a player ranked that high! ๐Ÿ†

Wang shared, “Playing in the qualifiers really helped me. Getting more matches, especially as we transition from clay to grass, is super important. Winning builds confidence and helps me adapt to the surface faster.” ๐ŸŒฑ

Next up, Wang will face Liudmila Samsonova from Russia in the semifinals. Let’s cheer for Wang as she continues her incredible journey! Go Wang! ๐Ÿ™Œ
