Shocking Upset at Queen’s Club! ๐พ
Hey tennis fans! Guess what happened at the new Queen’s Club tournament in London? Two-time Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova lost in the first round! ๐ฑ
Kvitova, who won Wimbledon in 2011 and 2014, was playing against Brazil’s Beatriz Haddad Maia. The match started great for Kvitova. She won the first set 6-2! ๐
But Haddad Maia didn’t give up. She fought back and won the next two sets 6-4, 6-4. Talk about an amazing comeback! ๐ช
“Playing against Petra is always tough. She’s amazing on grass,” said Haddad Maia. “I’m happy I could win today.” ๐
Did you know? This is the first top-level women’s event at Queen’s Club in over 50 years! That’s more than half a century! ๐ฎ
In other matches, German player Tatjana Maria won her game, and Anastasia Zakharova from Russia beat last year’s Wimbledon semi-finalist Donna Vekic. ๐
Coming up next, Britain’s own Emma Raducanu will play her first match on Tuesday. Let’s cheer her on! ๐ฌ๐ง
Tennis is full of surprises, and this tournament is just getting started. Stay tuned for more exciting updates! ๐พโจ
