๐๏ธ๐๏ธ The exciting Taklimakan Rally just started its first stage in the Chinese Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region! On Wednesday, racers zoomed through the beautiful Wensu Grand Canyon in Aksu Prefecture.
Imagine racing through narrow canyons, splashing across rivers, and speeding along washed-out paths for almost 160 kilometers! That’s what these brave racers did. It’s like a real-life video game! ๐ฎ
In the motorcycle division, Martin Michek from the Czech Republic was the fastest. He rides for the Hoto Factory Racing Team and finished the race in just 2 hours, 3 minutes, and 36 seconds! ๐
In the car category, Chinese racer Fan Gaoxiang and his navigator Fu Liguo led the pack. They finished even faster, in 2 hours, 3 minutes, and 11 seconds! ๐๐จ
After winning the first stage, Fan said, “Everything went smoothly, but it still felt like a warm-up. The next stage will have more desert terrain, so we’ll take it a bit easier. This was a high-speed stage, but once we hit the desert, that’s when the real challenges of the Taklimakan Rally begin!” ๐๏ธ
The second stage is 115 kilometers and will take the racers to a place called Alar. Everyone is excited to see what adventures await them in the desert! ๐ต
