John Korir Wins Boston Marathon, Just Like His Brother! πββοΈ
Hey there, young sports fans! Have you heard the exciting news from the Boston Marathon? John Korir from Kenya has won the men’s race! π But that’s not allβhis brother, Wesley Korir, won the same race back in 2012. That makes them the first brothers ever to both win the Boston Marathon! How cool is that?
Despite a fall at the very start, John didn’t give up. Around the 34-kilometer mark, he zoomed ahead of everyone and kept the lead all the way to the finish line, crossing it in just 2 hours, 4 minutes, and 45 seconds. That’s super fast! π
In the women’s race, more history was made! Sharon Lokedi, also from Kenya, set a new course record with a time of 2 hours, 17 minutes, and 22 seconds. She outpaced the defending champion Hellen Obiri and became the fastest woman ever on this course! π₯
Sharon was over the moon and said, “It feels so good, so great. I can’t believe it, I’m so excited!” It’s amazing to see someone achieve their dreams with such determination. π
A big shout-out to all 32,000 runners who participated this year! Maybe one day, you’ll be running alongside them. Would you like to run a marathon someday? Keep chasing your dreams and never give up! π
