Ding Junhui Celebrates 20 Years with an Awesome Win! 🎉
Hey everyone! Have you heard about Ding Junhui? He’s a super talented snooker player from the Chinese mainland, and he just had an amazing victory!
Ding defeated Kyren Wilson, who is currently a top snooker player, with a score of 10-5 in the quarterfinals of the WST Tour Championship. This win is super special because it’s been 20 years since Ding won his very first ranking title!
Back in 2005, when some of us weren’t even born yet, Ding won the China Open by beating the legendary Stephen Hendry. Since then, he’s become Asia’s most successful snooker player, with an incredible 15 ranking titles! 🏆
In the match against Wilson, Ding played amazingly well. He made several high-scoring breaks (that’s when a player scores a lot of points in one turn) of 123, 73, 76, 59, and 80. This helped him take a big lead of 7-1 in the first part of the match.
He kept up his great performance in the second part, starting off with another break of 80. Even though Wilson tried to catch up by winning a few frames, Ding stayed focused and kept his lead.
At one point, Wilson made a comeback and won a frame with a break of 106, but Ding didn’t let that stop him! He won the match with a final score of 10-5.
Next up, Ding will face Mark Selby, who is a four-time world champion, in the semifinals. We’re all cheering for Ding and can’t wait to see how he does! 🎱👏
