Chinese rising star Shang Juncheng, who’s just 19 years old, has made it to the semifinals! He beat Hungary’s Fabian Marozsan in a tough three-set match on Friday.
Marozsan, 25, had just surprised everyone by beating top seed Andrey Rublev. He started strong, winning the first set against Shang 6-1.
But Shang didn’t give up! 💪 He fought back in the second set, using his speed and sharp shots to win 6-3.
In the deciding third set, Shang took the lead and clinched the match 6-4 when Marozsan’s forehand went out of bounds.
Next up, Shang will face Japan’s Kei Nishikori in the semifinals. Nishikori is a wildcard player who beat Britain’s Cameron Norrie.
