Meet Yang Shu: The Blind Storyteller Bringing Books to Life! πŸ“šπŸŽ§

Have you ever listened to an audiobook? Imagine someone reading you a story, making each character come alive with different voices. That’s what Yang Shu does! Yang Shu is a woman from China who is visually impaired, which means she can’t see like most people do. But that hasn’t stopped her from following her dreams!

When Yang Shu discovered something called “screen reader software” during a training session, it was like finding hidden treasure! πŸ’Ž This special software reads out loud what’s on the computer screen, so people who can’t see can hear it instead.

Now, Yang Shu uses her amazing voice to record audiobooks. She has narrated about 50 books so far! “While others read with their eyes, I read with my ears,” she says. She listens to the words and then tells the story in her own special way, adding feelings and emotions to make it exciting.

Turning Dreams into Reality 🌟

Yang Shu is just one example of how people with disabilities are achieving great things. The Chinese government is helping many people like her by providing training and creating new jobs. They even have a big plan to help one million people with disabilities find jobs between 2022 and 2024!

Helping Hands Across China 🀝

Did you know that in 2023, over half a million people with disabilities found jobs in China? That’s like filling up more than six big football stadiums with people! 🏟️🏟️🏟️🏟️🏟️🏟️

Many of them work in farming, taking care of animals, or making products from plants and crops. The government and organizations also provided training to over 250,000 people to learn new skills.

They even helped over a million families make their homes easier to live in. They added things like ramps for wheelchairs and special devices to help people move around safely. πŸ β™Ώ

Helping Children Grow and Learn 🌱

From 2021 to 2023, China helped nearly 1.24 million children with disabilities get special care and rehabilitation services. That’s a lot of kids getting the help they need to grow strong and healthy!

A Day to Remember 🌍

Every year, there is a special day called the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. It’s a time to think about how we can all support and include people with disabilities in our communities.

You Can Make a Difference Too! 😊

Just like Yang Shu, everyone has talents and dreams. By understanding and helping each other, we can make the world a better place for everyone!
