Guangsha Lions’ Epic Comeback in Boban’s Big Debut! ๐
The Guangsha Lions pulled off an amazing comeback to beat the Beijing Ducks 83-79 on Wednesday! ๐ This exciting Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) game took place in Hangzhou, a city in east China’s Zhejiang Province.
Boban Marjanovic’s First Game!
Guess what? Guangsha’s new player, Boban Marjanovic from Serbia, played his first game with the team! ๐ท๐ธ Boban is super tall at 2.22 meters (that’s about 7 feet 3 inches!) and has an incredible wingspan of 2.39 meters. His long arms make it easy for him to dunk the ball, and he even dunked over a big player named Zhou Qi! ๐ฒ
Even though Boban is very tall, he found it a bit tricky to run back and forth quickly during the game. He played for seven minutes, scored four points, grabbed two rebounds (that’s when you catch the ball after a missed shot), and made a steal (taking the ball from the other team)! Not bad for his first game! ๐
A Tough Start…
Both teams found it hard to score points at the beginning. After the first quarter, the Beijing Ducks were leading 22-17. They kept playing strong defense and led 42-36 at halftime.
The Big Comeback! ๐ฅ
In the third quarter, things looked tough for the Guangsha Lions. They were behind by 17 points, with the score at 64-47! But they didn’t give up. They started to play even harder and went on a 7-0 run (scoring seven points in a row)!
In the final quarter, the Lions roared back! ๐ฆ They outscored the Ducks 13-2 in the first four minutes and took the lead at 67-66. The game was super close, and with just one minute left, the score was tied at 77-77! ๐ฎ
Sealing the Victory ๐ฏ
In the last moments, Guangsha’s Zhu Junlong and Barry Brown were super cool under pressure. They got six free throws (that’s when you get to shoot without anyone blocking you), and they made all of them! This helped the Guangsha Lions secure the win at 83-79! ๐
What an exciting game! It shows that even if you’re behind, you can always make a comeback if you keep trying your best! ๐ช
