Hey friends! Have you heard about what’s happening between China and the Philippines? Let’s dive in! ๐โโ๏ธ
Recently, some ships from the Philippines sailed near an island called Houteng Jiao, which is part of a group of islands known as Nansha Qundao (also known as the Spratly Islands) in the South China Sea. China says these islands belong to them. ๐จ๐ณ
The China Coast Guard (CCG) noticed that the Philippine ships were gathering near Houteng Jiao, and they weren’t just fishingโthey had reporters with them, too! ๐ฅ
The CCG told the Philippine ships to stop and leave the area, but the ships didn’t listen. The CCG was concerned because they believe the Philippines was trying to make a scene for publicity. ๐ฎ
China’s spokesperson, Liu Dejun, said that China has no doubt that these islands and waters belong to them. He asked the Philippines to stop doing things that could cause problems and to stop spreading stories that might not be true. ๐
The China Coast Guard says they’ll keep protecting their waters and making sure everything is safe. โ
It’s important for countries to talk and solve problems peacefully. Let’s hope China and the Philippines can work things out! ๐ค
