Guess what? Our favorite marmalade-loving bear is back with a brand-new adventure! The movie “Paddington in Peru”, the third film in the Paddington series, just premiered in China on the first day of 2025!
On its opening day, the movie made over 10 million yuan (that’s about $1.4 million)! 🎉 Isn’t that amazing?
To celebrate, there was a special event in Beijing where fans not only watched the movie but also enjoyed a reading and discussion of the original Paddington book by British author Michael Bond. 📖
Geraldine McCafferty, the deputy head of mission at the British embassy in Beijing, was there too! She talked about how Paddington Bear helps bring people from different countries together. 🌍❤️
Did you know that since 1958, the Paddington books have been translated into more than 40 languages? That’s almost 70 years of spreading joy to kids all around the world!
In China alone, over 1.2 million copies of the Paddington Bear series have been published since 2010. That’s a lot of bedtime stories! 📚✨
