Plane Crash Near Aktau, Kazakhstan
On Wednesday morning, an Azerbaijan Airlines plane had an accident near the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan. The plane was flying from Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, to Grozny in Russia.
There were 62 passengers and 5 crew members on board. Sadly, the plane crashed, but amazingly, 29 people survived the accident! 😊
The plane was an Embraer 190, which is a type of aircraft used by many airlines around the world. The reasons why the plane crashed are still not known.
The good news is that law enforcement agencies from Russia and Azerbaijan are working together to find out what happened. They have also found the second “black box” from the plane. 📦
A “black box” is a special device that records important information about the flight, like what the pilots said and how the plane was working. Even though it’s called a black box, it’s usually bright orange so it’s easier to find!
Finding the black boxes will help experts understand why the plane crashed, so they can make flying even safer in the future. ✈️
Our thoughts are with everyone affected by this accident.
