For six decades, Wei Deyou has been protecting his country’s border in a remote area called Salbulake. This place is in the far northwestern part of China, and it’s known for its tough weather. In the summer, there are giant mosquitoes 🦟, and in the winter, temperatures drop to a freezing minus 40 degrees Celsius! ❄️
But no matter how hard it got, Grandpa Wei didn’t give up. He says, “No matter how difficult, we must guard our homeland.” And now, he’s passing the torch to his daughter, who will continue his important work. 🏞️👨👧
