Early on Tuesday morning, at 2:50 AM Beijing Time, a big rocket called the Long March-2D blasted off from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in Shanxi Province, China. This was the 553rd time a Long March rocket has flown! 🎉
The four satellites are part of a group called PIESAT-2, and they have a special job. They use something called Synthetic Aperture Radar, or SAR for short. 📡
What’s SAR? It’s like a super-powered camera that can take pictures of Earth, even when it’s cloudy or dark! 🌧️🌙 That means we can always keep an eye on our planet to learn more about it and keep it safe.
