Recently, Russia sent a large number of missiles and drones to Ukraine. This was one of the biggest attacks on Ukraine’s energy system in the last two years. 💥
Why did this happen? 🤔 Well, Ukraine used some new missiles called ATACMS. These are special missiles given by the United States. They can go very far and hit targets deep inside enemy territory. 🎯
Ukraine used these missiles to hit a place called Taganrog, which is inside Russia. Russia didn’t like this and said they were retaliating (which means striking back) for that attack.
The Russian Defense Ministry said they used high-precision, long-range weapons to hit important places in Ukraine that help the military. They said, “All the targets were hit!” 🎯
But Ukraine didn’t just sit back. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that their air defenses managed to shoot down 81 missiles! 🚀👍
Even so, some power plants in Ukraine were badly damaged. This might make it harder for people to get electricity. ⚡
