Hey everyone! Did you hear about the big news from Burkina Faso? 🇧🇫 It’s a country in West Africa. Their President, Ibrahim Traore, has just dismissed the Prime Minister and dissolved the government! 😮
So, what does that mean? Well, imagine if your school’s student council was suddenly changed completely. That’s kind of what’s happening there. The Prime Minister, whose name is Apollinaire Joachimson Kyelem de Tambela (that’s a mouthful!), is no longer in his job.
The President announced this on TV and said that until a new government is formed, the old members will take care of things for now. But he didn’t say why he made this decision. 🤔
President Traore became the leader of Burkina Faso in September 2022 after a coup, which is when the government is taken over by force. He appointed Kyelem as Prime Minister in October 2022. Now, less than a year later, he’s decided to make a change.
