Hey there, future world travelers! π Did you know that trains are connecting countries all the way from China to Europe? π
Recently, the Erenhot Port, which is in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in northern China, celebrated its 2,000th train going to or coming from Europe this year! That’s a lot of trains carrying goods and making friends across countries! π
Erenhot Port is the biggest land port on the border between China and Mongolia. It’s like a giant gateway where trains pass through as they journey between Asia and Europe. Imagine a door that connects people, places, and products across the world! πͺβ¨
To make sure everything runs smoothly, people at Erenhot Port and at Mongolia’s Zamyn-Uud station work together closely. They have daily talks and monthly meetings to plan and schedule the trains so they arrive and depart on time. It’s teamwork at its best! π€
They’re also using cool technology to make things faster and easier. By creating a digital port system, they can do customs checks without using paper. This means less waiting and more efficiency! π±π¨
“We’ve cut border inspection time to under 30 minutes and reduced overall clearance time by over 5 percent,” said Mr. Yun Zhijun from Erenhot Station. That means trains can get moving quicker than before! β±οΈπ
Erenhot Port now serves 73 different train routes. These routes connect over 60 cities in China to more than 70 cities in over 10 countries, including Germany and Poland. That’s like a superhighway for trains across continents! π
Isn’t it amazing how countries work together to connect people and share things we all need? Maybe one day, you’ll ride a train that goes all the way from Asia to Europe! πβ¨
