Hey kids! Did you know that countries have meetings just like when you and your friends get together to solve problems? Recently, China’s Foreign Minister, Wang Yi, went to a super important meeting called the ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF). This meeting is like a big gathering where countries in the Asia-Pacific region chat about keeping peace and making sure everyone gets along.

Wang Yi said that the Asia-Pacific region (that’s countries like China, Japan, Australia, and many others!) has been growing and developing because everyone has been peaceful and friendly. He thinks it’s really important to keep it that way so everyone can continue to be happy and successful.

At the meeting, Wang Yi shared some ideas on how to make the region even better:

  • Working Together: He believes that all countries should help each other and work as a team.
  • Fair and Balanced Safety: This means making sure that every country feels safe and that no one is left out.
  • Talking It Out: If there are problems, countries should talk and find solutions together, just like friends do!

He also said that competing and not getting along (what adults call a “zero-sum game”) isn’t helpful. Instead, everyone should aim for “win-win” situations where all countries benefit.

Wang Yi wants countries to use “Eastern wisdom” like valuing harmony (getting along) and coexistence (living peacefully together). He mentioned the “Bandung Spirit,” which is about friendship and cooperation among countries.

China is excited to work with other countries to solve differences by talking and making sure everyone feels heard. They believe that by doing this, the Asia-Pacific region will continue to be a great place for everyone!

Isn’t it cool how countries try to get along and make the world a better place? Maybe one day, you’ll be part of these big conversations too! 🌟
