Ben Healy’s Amazing Ride Wins Stage 6 of Tour de France! Van der Poel Wears Yellow Jersey!

Wow! Irish cyclist Ben Healy just won Stage 6 of the Tour de France after an incredible solo ride! 🚴‍♂️

Ben, who is 24 years old, zoomed ahead of everyone on a hilly stage and crossed the finish line all by himself. This is his first-ever stage win in the Tour de France!

He said, “A stage win in the Tour is just unbelievable, it’s what I’ve worked for. I grew up watching the Tour and wishing one day I could just be there. Participating in the Tour is already an achievement and to win a stage is just so so amazing.”

American rider Quinn Simmons came in second place, finishing 2 minutes and 44 seconds after Ben. Australian Michael Storer was third, 2 minutes and 51 seconds behind.

But that’s not all! Dutch cyclist Mathieu van der Poel took back the famous yellow jersey, which means he’s currently leading the overall race! 🟡 He is just one second ahead of defending champion Tadej Pogacar from Slovenia.

Van der Poel said, “I would have loved to have a bit more than one second but I’m happy to have it again. I’ll try my best to recover as good as possible and then we’ll see tomorrow, but first I’m going to enjoy the yellow jersey. I will probably only have it for one day.”

Stage 6 was a tough ride over 201.5 kilometers from Bayeux to Vire Normandie, with six challenging climbs and a steep uphill finish.

What an exciting day in the world’s most famous cycling race! Stay tuned to see what happens next! 🚴‍♂️🏆
