Since June 21, over 1,000 earthquakes have been felt in the Tokara Island chain, which is in southwestern Japan. That’s a lot! 😮 One of these earthquakes was really strong, almost at the top of Japan’s scale for measuring quakes. 🏔️

The Japanese authorities are telling people on Akusekijima Island to be ready to leave if they need to. Some residents have already moved to safer places. 🛳️
