Hey there!
Guess what? ๐ On Thursday, U.S. President Donald Trump had a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin. They talked for about an hour! But here’s the thing: they didn’t make any progress on some important issues like Iran and Ukraine.
Trump told reporters, “No, I didn’t make any progress with him today at all. I’m not happy about that.”
Talking About Iran and Ukraine
Iran and Ukraine are two countries where there have been some big problems. The U.S. and Russia often have different ideas about how to handle these issues.
- Iran: The U.S. and Iran have had tensions over nuclear activities and other matters.
- Ukraine: There’s been a conflict involving Ukraine and Russia. Many countries are concerned about this situation.
During the call, Putin said that Russia wants to solve the problems that led to the current situation in Ukraine. His aide, Yury Ushakov, mentioned that Russia is ready for more talks with Ukraine to try to find solutions.
Working Together?
Even though they didn’t make progress on those big issues, Trump and Putin talked about possibly working together on other projects, like energy and space! ๐
Wouldn’t it be cool if the U.S. and Russia could team up on space missions?
What’s Next?
We’ll have to wait and see if any progress happens later. International relations can be complicated, but it’s important for countries to keep talking and trying to find solutions. ๐๐ค
Stay tuned for more updates!
