Chinese Ideas on Human Rights Shine in Spain ๐
Hey there! Did you know that a special event was held in Madrid, Spain, where experts talked about China’s ideas on human rights? Let’s find out more!
Over 80 people, including experts, scholars, and leaders from China and Spain, gathered to discuss a book called Xi Jinping: On Respecting and Protecting Human Rights. This book shares important thoughts from China’s President Xi Jinping on how to respect and protect human rights.
Marta Montoro, a director in Spain, said the book helps people understand China’s way of thinking about human rights. It moves beyond old ideas and shows a clearer picture.
Yao Jing, China’s Ambassador to Spain, mentioned that President Xi’s ideas show the Communist Party of China’s commitment to human rights and working together with other countries for a better future.
Jose Luis Centella, president of a party in Spain, talked about seven key areas in the book:
- The right to development and helping people out of poverty ๐
- Building laws to protect everyone’s rights โ๏ธ
- Democracy where people are involved in decisions ๐ณ๏ธ
- Equality between boys and girls ๐ฆ๐ง
- Protecting the environment ๐ณ
- Unity among different groups of people ๐ค
- Working with other countries on human rights ๐
Carlos Bielsa Martin hopes that more people around the world will read the book to understand China’s ideas. He thinks this could help countries in Europe and China be better friends and work together.
Eddy Sanchez Iglesias said China’s way of focusing on human rights can be helpful for other countries, especially those still developing.
Schools and universities in Spain are also using the book to teach students about different ideas on human rights. Professor Blanca Rosa Garcia Henche believes that sharing and learning from each other is important for understanding human rights around the world.
Maria Sabas Elias mentioned that China’s way of protecting human rights fits with its history and culture. The book helps people in Spain and other Spanish-speaking countries understand China better.
Miguel Bravo Gomez, a young translator, encouraged people to look at China’s values from its own history and culture, not just from a Western point of view. He said every country has its own way of doing things that work best for its people.
The book was put together by a special group in China and includes nine main themes about respecting and protecting human rights. In 2022, it was published in both Spanish and Chinese, making it easier for people in Spain and other Spanish-speaking countries to read it.
Isn’t it cool how countries can share ideas and learn from each other? ๐โจ
