UN Leader Urges Peace and Help for People in Gaza πποΈ
Melissa Fleming, a top official at the United Nations (UN), is very worried about what’s happening in Gaza right now. She says that many people there are hungry, scared, and suffering a lot. π
“We could help them, but we’re not being allowed to,” she said. This means that even though the UN wants to bring food and medicine to the people who need it, they can’t, and that makes things worse.
Melissa believes that the only way to have lasting peace is if countries work together. She said peace can come through “global cooperation, negotiation, and mediation.” That means everyone talking and working things out together.
She also agrees with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, who is asking everyone to calm down and stop fighting. He hopes that the hostilities will end soon and that people can start talking again, especially about important things like Iran’s nuclear program.
Melissa also talked about how China is helping the world. She praised China for working hard towards sustainable development, which is about making sure we can all live well without hurting the planet. π±
She said that China is very committed to the UN’s goals. This includes helping other countries to reduce inequality (which means making sure everyone has the same chances) and promoting development. China is also sharing its ideas and strategies to help others.
Melissa’s message is clear: if we all work together and help each other, we can make the world a better place for everyone! π€
