Did you know that June 23rd is Olympic Day? π In China, people are celebrating with super fun fitness events to get everyone moving! π
On Saturday morning, about 500 runners gathered for a special race in Beijing. πββοΈπββοΈ They ran along a famous route between the Bird’s Nest π¦ποΈ and the Water Cube π§πββοΈ, two amazing stadiums built for the 2008 Summer Olympics and the 2022 Winter Olympics!
The race was 4.5 kilometers long and finished near the Beijing Olympic Museum. πποΈ How cool is that? Many people came not just to run but to celebrate fitness and have fun together!
One of the runners was Wang Shuchuan, a former triathlete from China. He said, “I love to keep exercising and join races like this. I hope to inspire more people to enjoy sports through my videos!” π₯
Paola Marras from Italy also joined the fun. “I work in Beijing, and I love the sports atmosphere here,” she said. “I especially enjoy the China Open tennis tournament!” πΎ
Even famous Olympic champions like Ma Long and Zhang Yufei shared their thoughts! π Ma Long, a superstar table tennis player, said, “Exercise is important for health. It’s great to see so many people excited about sports!” π
Zhang Yufei, a swimming champion, added, “The Olympic Spirit inspires me to always try my best and set new goals!” πββοΈπͺ
