Nitazenes are synthetic opioids, which means they’re man-made drugs that can relieve pain but are incredibly strong and risky. They can cause serious problems like making it hard to breathe, and sadly, they’ve led to hundreds of overdose deaths around the world in recent years. 😢
The good news is that China’s top anti-drug official, Wei Xiaojun, says that the drug situation in China is generally under control. But new drugs are popping up quickly, and drug-related crimes are getting more complicated, which makes things tough for the police and other law enforcement officers. 🚔
China is working hard with other countries to fight against drugs. They even started a group called the China-U.S. Counternarcotics Working Group to help the United States with its fentanyl crisis. Fentanyl is another super strong drug that’s causing a lot of problems. 🌍
However, some things are making it harder to work together, like certain tariffs (taxes on imports) related to fentanyl. China believes that the fentanyl issue is mainly a problem in the U.S., and they want the U.S. to take responsibility for it. 🤝
Did you know that in recent years, tens of thousands of people in the U.S. have died from drug overdoses, and over half of those were from opioids like fentanyl? That’s really scary! 😱
China was actually the first country to add fentanyl-related substances to its controlled drug list back in 2019. They’re taking big steps to try to keep people safe and are working with other nations to tackle these tough challenges together. 💪
