Hey there! 👋
Did you hear about what happened with the California National Guard? Let’s break it down together!
So, in the United States, each state has its own National Guard. They’re like part-time soldiers who help in emergencies, like natural disasters or big events. Usually, the state’s governor is in charge of them.
But recently, President Donald Trump wanted to use California’s National Guard to help with protests and unrest in Los Angeles. California’s governor, who is from the Democratic Party, didn’t think this was legal and started a lawsuit against President Trump.
A court case began, and at first, a judge named Charles Breyer said that President Trump couldn’t take control of the National Guard that way. But then, on Thursday, a higher court called the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals decided that President Trump could stay in control of the California National Guard while the lawsuit continues.
This means that, for now, President Trump can use the California National Guard as he planned, but the legal battle isn’t over yet! ⚖️
It’s a bit like when two friends can’t agree on the rules of a game, and they ask a teacher to decide. Sometimes, the teacher’s decision can change while they figure things out!
Isn’t it interesting how different parts of the government work together (or sometimes disagree)? Learning about these things helps us understand how our country works! 🇺🇸
