Exciting news! The medals for the 12th International World Games Association (IWGA) World Games, happening in Chengdu, China in August 2025, have just been revealed! 🎉 And guess what? They’re called “Zhuguang,” which means “Bamboo Light” and sounds like “Chasing the Light” in Chinese. Cool, right?
These medals are inspired by Chengdu’s local culture and the idea of sharing. They feature some amazing designs:
- Golden Sun Bird Motif 🌞: This ancient symbol represents the brilliance of Chinese civilization!
- Pandas 🐼: Chengdu is famous for pandas, and they appear on the medals too!
- Detachable Pin 🎁: The center of each medal has a special pin that athletes can remove and give to someone special. How sweet is that?
On the front of the medal, you’ll see the IWGA emblem surrounded by the event’s name in both Chinese and English. The flowing lines represent Chengdu’s skyline and the ancient Golden Sun Bird pattern, creating layers of light that symbolize the spirit of sports shining brightly!
