Doctor on Horseback: Saving Lives in Xinjiang’s Mountains

Have you ever heard of a doctor who rides a horse over mountains to help people? Meet Dr. Jumatay Aubakir, known as the “doctor on horseback” in Xinjiang!

For over 30 years, since July 1992, Dr. Jumatay has been traveling through the high mountains of Xinjiang, which are more than 3,000 meters tall! That’s like stacking 10 Eiffel Towers on top of each other!

🏇 The mountain roads are super dangerous and twisty. But Dr. Jumatay never lets that stop him. Whenever someone in the remote villages needs help, he packs up his special medical kit and rides his horse across the mountains to reach them.

His medical kit is extra special because it’s 40 years old and was used by his father before him. It’s like a family treasure that has helped so many people over the years.

Dr. Jumatay has never turned down a patient, no matter how hard it is to get to them. He believes that everyone deserves care and help. Isn’t that amazing?

Because of his kindness and hard work, he received the “Most Beautiful Village Doctor” award. 🎖️ He’s a real-life hero, showing us that with courage and kindness, we can make a big difference in the world!

What do you think about Dr. Jumatay’s story? Would you be brave enough to cross mountains to help others?
