On June 14, 2025, the 27th Shanghai International Film Festival kicked off in style with the dazzling Golden Goblet Gala! 🌟
The red carpet rolled out at the magnificent Shanghai Grand Theatre, where more than 200 guests from China and around the world gathered to celebrate the magic of movies. 🎥✨
This year is extra special because it’s been 130 years since the birth of world cinema and 120 years of Chinese film. And guess what? Shanghai is considered the birthplace of Chinese cinema! 🏮
Famous Italian filmmaker Giuseppe Tornatore, known for his movie \”Cinema Paradiso,\” led the Golden Goblet Awards jury. Alongside six other jurors, he stepped onto the red carpet, exciting fans and photographers alike! 📸
After the gala, everyone enjoyed the world premiere of the festival’s opening film, \”She’s Got No Name.\” Even better, special screenings were held in over 150 cinemas across Shanghai, so lots of people could join in the fun! 🍿
Over the next few days, the jury will watch all the nominated films and decide who will take home the Golden Goblet Awards. The big awards ceremony will happen on June 21. Who do you think will win? 🏆
