There’s big news from Poland! The coach of Poland’s national football team, Michal Probierz, has resigned. Why? Because of a disagreement with the team’s star player, Robert Lewandowski!
Who’s Robert Lewandowski? He’s one of the best football players in the world and Poland’s top goal scorer ever! He plays for Barcelona and is a hero to many young football fans.
What happened? Lewandowski was the captain of Poland’s team. But recently, Coach Probierz decided to make another player, Piotr Zielinski, the new captain. Lewandowski was hurt because he felt the coach didn’t tell him in a nice way. He got a quick phone call while he was putting his kids to bed, and then saw the news online!
Because of this, Lewandowski said he wouldn’t play for the national team as long as Probierz was the coach. That’s a big deal!
Coach Probierz’s decision: Seeing that the team was in trouble, Probierz decided to step down. He said it was the best thing for the team. He had been the coach since 2023 and helped Poland in important matches.
What’s next for Poland? Poland is getting ready for big matches to try and qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. They are third in their group and will play against the Netherlands on September 4th. Let’s hope the team can come together and do their best!
