Hey there! Have you ever heard of a typhoon? It’s like a giant storm with super strong winds and lots of rain. Well, there’s a big one coming called Typhoon Wutip, and it’s heading towards south China!

China’s State Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters has raised its emergency response to Level III. That sounds serious, right? China has four levels, with Level I being the most severe, so Level III means they are getting ready!

The areas getting ready are Hainan, Guangdong, and Guangxi. They are all in south China, near the sea. Workers are helping people prepare by making sure buildings are safe and everyone knows what to do.

As of Friday morning, Typhoon Wutip was near Ledong, off the coast of Hainan. It’s moving north at about 10 kilometers per hour. That’s like biking speed! But don’t let that fool youโ€”the winds are super strong!

The typhoon is expected to make landfall between Xuwen in Guangdong and Beihai in Guangxi around midday Saturday. That means it will come onto land and might cause heavy rain and strong winds.

Because of the typhoon, there will be lots of rain from Friday to Sunday in Hainan, western and northern Guangdong, and eastern and coastal areas of Guangxi. Heavy rain can cause floods, so everyone is being careful.

Remember, safety first! If you live in these areas or know someone who does, make sure to stay indoors during the storm and listen to the adults and local news for updates.
