UN adopts resolution demanding immediate Gaza ceasefire

UN Calls for Immediate Ceasefire in Gaza to Help People in Need

The United Nations (UN) has made an important decision! ๐ŸŒ On Thursday, they voted to demand an immediate and lasting ceasefire in Gaza. This means they want all the fighting to stop right away so that people can get the help they need.

The UN General Assembly had a big meeting called an Emergency Special Session. In this meeting, most countries agreed that it’s important to stop the fighting in Gaza. They also want to make sure that food, water, and medicine can reach the people there quickly.

The resolution, which is like a big agreement, was passed with 149 countries saying ‘Yes!’ Only a few countries didn’t agree. The UN also asked for all hostages to be released and for any prisoners to be returned home.

The resolution says that everyone should make sure that civilians, which means regular people like kids and families, are safe and have what they need to survive. They also want to make sure that doctors, nurses, and hospitals are protected.

Even though UN General Assembly resolutions aren’t like laws that countries have to follow, they show what most countries in the world think is the right thing to do. The hope is that this will encourage peace and help for the people of Gaza. ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ
