WHO says Gaza's Al-Amal hospital 'virtually out of service'

Al-Amal Hospital in Gaza ‘Virtually Out of Service,’ Says WHO

Al-Amal Hospital in Gaza Is Running Out of Help, Says WHO 😔

Hey everyone! Did you know that hospitals are super important places where people go when they are sick or hurt? Well, there’s a hospital called Al-Amal in Gaza, and right now, it’s almost not able to help people anymore! 😟

The head of the World Health Organization (WHO), Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, said that Al-Amal Hospital is “virtually out of service” because there’s a lot of fighting happening nearby. This means that new patients can’t get to the hospital, and that’s causing more people to get sicker or even worse. 💔

Dr. Tedros also mentioned that two emergency medical teams are still working hard inside the hospital. One team is from nearby, and the other is from a different country. They’re doing their best to help the patients with the little supplies they have left. They’re real heroes! 🦸‍♂️🦸‍♀️

With Al-Amal Hospital closing, the Nasser Medical Complex is now the only hospital with an intensive care unit (ICU) in a place called Khan Younis. ICUs are special parts of hospitals where very sick people get the extra care they need.

The WHO said that both Al-Amal and Nasser hospitals have been struggling to help all the people who need them because they don’t have enough medicines and supplies. This is because it’s been hard to get these supplies into Gaza for the past two months. 🚑

Some help has been allowed in recently, but it’s not enough. Many people still need more medicine and care. Let’s hope that more aid can get to the people who need it soon! ❤️

It’s important for us to know about these things happening around the world. Maybe we can find ways to help or spread the word! 🌍
