Peru has just opened a brand-new mega port called Chancay Port! This huge port is located about 80 kilometers north of Lima, the capital city of Peru.
On November 14, the President of China, Xi Jinping, and the President of Peru, Dina Boluarte, came together to celebrate the opening of Chancay Port. But why is this port so special?
Chancay Port is the first smart and green port in South America! This means it uses advanced technology and is built to be kind to the environment.
It’s part of a big plan called the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). This plan helps countries around the world trade with each other more easily.
