China and Tonga Strengthen Their Friendship!

On Wednesday, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Tonga’s Crown Prince and Foreign Minister, Tupouto’a ‘Ulukalala, in Xiamen City, China. They met during the third China-Pacific Island Countries Foreign Ministers’ Meeting.
A Friendship That Grows Stronger
China and Tonga have been friends for 27 years! ๐ Over the years, they’ve helped each other through tough times like natural disasters and the COVID-19 pandemic.
Minister Wang Yi shared greetings from Chinese President Xi Jinping to Tonga’s King Tupou VI. He said that China will always support Tonga’s choices for their country’s future. This means China respects Tonga’s decisions about their own country.
