Hey everyone! Have you ever seen a dragon boat race? In Bijiang District, China, they have an amazing festival where colorful dragon boats race down the river!
On May 24, in the ancient city of Tongren, people celebrated the Dragon Invitation Ceremony. As the sun went down, drums and gongs filled the air. It was so loud and exciting! ๐ฅ๐
The leader of the ceremony wore traditional clothes and led a parade with dragon guardians. They walked down stone steps, praying for a great dragon boat race. Everyone was so happy and full of energy!
At Wenmiao Square, over 300 dancers made a giant bamboo dragon that was 1,000 meters long! That’s like 10 football fields! They danced around a big drum, bringing lots of joy to the festival.
When the dragon boats finally went into the water, people cheered loudly. The rowers paddled together while flags waved and drums beat. It was an awesome sight! ๐ฃโโ๏ธ๐ฉ
To make it even cooler, 500 drones lit up the night sky with words like “Dragon Soaring over Jinjiang River” and “Bijiang Welcomes You.” Imagine seeing that above you! โจ๐ฎ
Bijiang District is famous for its dragon boat races. Since 2008, they have held big events where teams come to race and have fun. This year’s races will be on May 30 and 31. Maybe one day you can visit and see it for yourself!
