Trump threatens tariffs on smartphones made outside U.S.

Trump Says iPhones Must Be Made in USA or Face Tariffs

Hey there! 📱 Did you hear the big news? U.S. President Donald Trump wants all iPhones and Samsung Galaxy phones to be made in the United States! 🇺🇸

On Friday, President Trump said he might put a 25% tax, called a tariff, on iPhones and other smartphones that are made outside the U.S. This means companies like Apple and Samsung might have to pay extra money if their phones are made in places like India or South Korea.

Trump said, “I expect their iPhones that will be sold in the United States of America will be manufactured and built in the United States, not India, or anyplace else.”

But guess what? Apple is already planning to make more iPhones in India and might have a hard time moving all their factories to the U.S. anytime soon. 💡 An expert named Gil Luria said it’s difficult for Apple to make this big change in just a few years.

Not only that, but President Trump also said he might put a 50% tax on things the U.S. buys from Europe! 🌍 Some people in Europe aren’t too happy about this and hope they can work things out.

It’s like when your favorite toys are made in different countries, and suddenly they might cost more because of extra taxes. 🧸💰 These changes could make smartphones more expensive or change where they’re made.

What do you think about this? Could this mean new jobs in the U.S., or will it make phones cost more? 🤔 Only time will tell!
