Hey everyone! Have you ever heard of the Chinese merganser duck? 🦆 They are super rare ducks that live in China, and guess what? Their cute little ducklings are hatching right now in northeast China! 🐣🐤
The Chinese merganser is one of the oldest and rarest duck species in the world. They are so special that they are a first-class protected wild animal in China. Every year, in April and May, these ducks build their nests in the trees of Changbai Mountain in Jilin Province, and lay their eggs. 🌳🥚
When the ducklings hatch, something amazing happens. Even though they can’t fly yet, the tiny chicks jump from their nests high up in the trees to the ground below! 😲 Don’t worry, they’re built for it and they land safely. Then, they follow their parents to nearby rivers and streams to learn how to swim and find food. 🌊🐟
