UN chief calls for immediate cessation of hostilities in Syria

UN Chief Calls for Peace in Syria Amid New Fighting 🚩

The United Nations Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, is asking everyone in Syria to stop fighting right away.

Recently, there’s been new violence in northwest Syria. A group called Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, along with other factions, started attacks in the Aleppo region. These fights have caused many problems for people living there.

Because of the fighting, lots of people have had to leave their homes. Some have been hurt, and important buildings have been damaged. This makes it hard for people to get things they need, like food and water.

Mr. Guterres is reminding everyone that they should follow international laws, which are rules that countries agree on to keep people safe. He wants all sides to talk and find a peaceful way to end the conflict.

He said, “Syrians have endured conflict for nearly 14 years. They deserve a political horizon that will deliver a peaceful future, not more bloodshed.”

At the same time, the Syrian army said they stopped an attack by rebel groups in Hama Province. There were also reports of rockets and drones in the area.

The United Nations is worried about the people affected by this fighting. They are asking for safe ways for people to leave the dangerous areas and for help to get to those in need.

Let’s hope peace comes soon to Syria so kids and families can live safely and happily.
