Golden Monkeys Make Shiny Debut in France! πβ¨
Guess what? Three rare golden snub-nosed monkeys have just arrived in France! ππ«π· They are super special because it’s the first time these monkeys have ever left Asia. Now, they’re settling into their new home at the Beauval Zoo. ποΈ
These monkeys came all the way from the Shanghai Wild Animal Park in China. They even traveled with a special caretaker to make sure they were comfy on their journey. π’βοΈ After a month of settling in, they’re ready to meet visitors!
At a big welcome party, the zoo’s director, Rodolphe Delord, introduced their cool new names: Jindou (which means “golden seed” π±), Jinbao (“golden treasure” π), and Jinhua (“golden flower” πΌ). These names were picked by people just like you in an online contest! π
Mr. Delord said, “Just like our giant pandas, these amazing monkeys help bring France and China closer together to protect animals.” πΌβ€οΈπ΅ He hopes that soon there will be baby golden monkeys born at the zoo! And when they grow up, they might go back to China to live in the wild. π³πΏ
Did you know? The Beauval Zoo was also the first in France to have giant pandas from China back in 2012. Now, it’s the first zoo outside Asia to have these golden snub-nosed monkeys! How cool is that? π
These monkeys are really special. They have shiny golden fur and cute upturned noses. They’re called golden snub-nosed monkeys, and they live in the misty mountains of central and southwest China. ποΈπ§οΈ They’re a national treasure in China and are protected to keep them safe. π‘οΈ
If you ever visit the Beauval Zoo, be sure to say “Bonjour” to Jindou, Jinbao, and Jinhua! They’d love to see you! ππ
