China Calls for Remembering WWII at the United Nations ๐
Hey everyone! Have you ever wondered why history is so important? Well, something interesting happened at the United Nations recently! China’s Ambassador, Fu Cong, spoke to leaders from all over the world about World War II (WWII) and why we should remember it the right way.
What Happened?
The United Nations General Assembly (that’s like a big meeting of almost all the countries in the world) held a special event to remember all the people who were affected by WWII. This year marks 80 years since that huge war ended!
China’s Big Role in WWII ๐จ๐ณ
Fu Cong reminded everyone that China played a really important part in winning the war. Did you know that over 35 million Chinese people were affected during WWII? China fought hard against Japanese militarism, which helped other countries in Europe and the Pacific too!
Why Is This Important Now?
Fu Cong said that even though the war ended 80 years ago, we need to make sure we understand what really happened. Some people try to change or forget parts of history, but it’s important to remember so we can learn from it and keep peace in the world.
Working Together for Peace โฎ๏ธ
He also talked about how countries should cooperate and follow the rules set by the United Nations to make the world a better place. Fu Cong warned against bullying and countries acting only for themselves.
Other Countries Agree ๐ค
Representatives from other countries spoke too! Vassily Nebenzia from Russia said that many countries sacrificed a lot during the war. Antje Leendertse from Germany admitted that the war, started by Nazi Germany, caused a lot of pain, and it’s their responsibility to make sure it never happens again.
Remembering the Past, Building the Future ๐
Philemon Yang, the President of the UN General Assembly, said we should honor those who fought and make sure we work towards a peaceful future. He said it’s up to us to choose cooperation over conflict!
Why This Matters to You
Even though these events happened long before any of us were born, they shape the world we live in today! By learning about history, we can understand the importance of peace, friendship, and working together. Maybe one day, you’ll be part of making the world a better place too!
