🚀 Get ready for an exciting space journey! China has just announced the crew members for its Shenzhou-20 mission to the Chinese Space Station! Let’s meet the incredible astronauts who are heading to space.
Commander Chen Dong
Chen Dong is no stranger to space. This will be his third space mission! He previously flew on the Shenzhou-11 mission in 2016 and the Shenzhou-14 mission in 2022. Born in 1978, Chen was selected to join the second group of Chinese astronauts. He’s a seasoned space traveler and will be the commander of this mission.
First-Time Flyer Chen Zhongrui
This is the first space mission for Chen Zhongrui! Born in 1984, he used to be a pilot in the Chinese People’s Liberation Army Air Force. He joined the third group of Chinese astronauts. Chen is super excited to see Earth from space for the very first time!
Engineer Wang Jie
Wang Jie is also making his space debut on this mission. Born in 1989, he is an engineer from the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation. He joined the astronaut team in 2020. Wang can’t wait to contribute his skills to the space station!
Launch Details
The Shenzhou-20 spaceship is scheduled to launch at 5:17 p.m. on April 24 from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China. Keep your eyes on the sky as these heroes blast off into space!
