'Hands Off': Europeans rally against Trump's policies

European Teens Rally Against US Trade Tariffs

European Teens Speak Up: Protests Against US Trade Tariffs ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

Hey there! Did you know that on April 5, people in cities all over Europe, like London, Paris, Berlin, and Lisbon, got together to protest against some new rules made by the US government?

They were upset about something called “reciprocal tariffs.” A tariff is like a tax on things that are bought from other countries. Imagine you wanted to buy your favorite candy from another country, but suddenly it got a lot more expensive because of extra taxes! Not fun, right?

The US government, led by President Trump, decided to put a 10% tax on all goods coming into the US from other countries, and even higher taxes on some places they trade with a lot. This made people worried all around the world because it could make things more expensive and harder to buy and sell between countries.

In London, hundreds of people gathered at a famous place called Trafalgar Square. They held up signs that said things like “No to Hate” and “Love Wins.” Some were even singing songs! ๐ŸŒˆ๐ŸŽต

A woman from the US, who was wrapped in an American flag that belonged to her grandfather from World War II, said she joined the protest because she wanted the US to be friends with other countries, not push them away.

In Lisbon, the capital of Portugal, Americans living there also got together. They had signs like “Hands Off Our Rights” and sang songs about freedom. One person even wrote his own song called “I Will Not Be Silent” and performed it at the protest! ๐ŸŽค

Similar protests happened in Paris and cities in Germany too. People wanted to show that they care about how countries work together and treat each other.

Before these protests in Europe, many people in the US also protested against these new rules. Lots of groups, like workers’ unions and veterans, joined together to make their voices heard.

It’s important to remember that when people come together peacefully to express their thoughts, it can help bring about change. What do you think about all of this? Have you ever stood up for something you believe in? ๐Ÿค”
