We have some sad news to share. On Friday, a powerful earthquake shook the ground in Bangkok, the capital city of Thailand. 🌏 The quake was actually centered in a nearby country called Myanmar, but it was so strong that it affected Bangkok too!
Because of the earthquake, an under-construction building in Bangkok collapsed. 🏗️ Unfortunately, 10 people have lost their lives, and more than 100 people are still missing. Rescuers are working hard to find them. 👷♀️👷♂️
Earthquakes happen when the Earth’s plates move suddenly. This movement can make the ground shake a lot! It’s important for buildings to be strong so they can handle these shakes.
