Hey swimmers and sports fans! 
Guess what? An 18-year-old superstar named Zhang Zhanshuo just made a big splash at China’s National Spring Swimming Championships! 
Zhang won not one, not two, but FOUR gold medals!

On the last day of the competition, Zhang raced in the men’s 400-meter individual medley. That’s a race where swimmers use all four strokes: butterfly 
, backstroke 
, breaststroke 
, and freestyle . He led the race from the very start and finished with a time of 4 minutes and 13.40 seconds!
But wait, there’s more! Before this race, Zhang had already won gold medals in the 1500-meter freestyle (that’s 30 laps!), the 200-meter butterfly, and another event. He’s definitely someone to watch in the swimming world! 
In other exciting news, Wang Yichun won the women’s 100-meter butterfly with a speedy time of 57.38 seconds. Yu Yiting and Gong Zhenqi came in second and third. Great job, everyone! 
Olympic champion Zhang Yufei also competed. Even though she finished fifth this time, she said she’s using this race as a “baseline test.” She told everyone, “I won’t perform worse than this in my future races.” We believe in you, Zhang Yufei! 
Another inspiring swimmer, 29-year-old Ye Shiwen, won the women’s 100-meter breaststroke. She finished in 1 minute and 7.81 seconds, grabbing her first title in this event. Earlier, she also set personal bests in the 100-meter backstroke twice in one day! Talk about determination!
