Chinese Basketball Hall of Fame Welcomes New Legends! 🎉
Hey basketball fans! 🏀 Have you heard the exciting news from Beijing? The China Basketball Hall of Fame just celebrated its 2024 Class at Tsinghua University on Sunday!
Some of China’s greatest basketball stars were honored during the ceremony. Let’s meet them:
- Li Hanting and Gong Xiaobin – outstanding male athletes who made incredible plays on the court!
- Yang Jie and Miao Lijie – amazing female athletes who inspired many with their skills!
- Ma Qingsheng – an outstanding coach who guided teams to victory!
- Guo Yupei – an outstanding referee who kept the games fair and fun!
- Li Zhenzhong, Wu Chengzhang, and Huang Lie – pioneers who helped shape Chinese basketball!
Miao Lijie, one of the star players, shared some of her favorite memories from her basketball career. She talked about how hard work and teamwork made a big difference! 💪
Gong Xiaobin showed a scar he got during a tough game against South Korea in 1998. He told young players, “Only by stepping onto the global stage can you truly represent China.” 🌏
This was the third annual induction, and now the Hall of Fame has 42 individuals and three groups who have made basketball in China awesome! 🏆 They are keeping the history and spirit of Chinese basketball alive.
