Hey tennis fans! 🎾 Guess what? China’s rising tennis star, Zheng Qinwen, just made it to the last 16 at the Miami Open! 🌴☀️ She defeated American player Taylor Townsend with a score of 6-1, 7-6(3) on Saturday. How exciting is that?
The match was thrilling! In the first set, Zheng played amazingly. She took a quick lead, winning the first five games in just 17 minutes! 😮 Although Townsend fought back and won a game to make it 5-1, Zheng secured the set comfortably.
The second set was much closer. Both players played really well, and neither could break the other’s serve. It went all the way to a tiebreak! But Zheng stayed strong and won the tiebreak 7-3. Way to go! 🎉
Next up, Zheng will face another American player, Ashlyn Krueger, in the round of 16. Let’s cheer her on! 🙌
