Hey kids! Did you know that China, one of the biggest countries in the world, is super confident about growing its economy by 5% this year? That’s like making their giant money pie even bigger! 🥧➡️🎂
Mr. Zheng Shanjie, who helps plan China’s economy (think of him like a big team coach for money matters), said that they have a strong plan and lots of support to make this happen. He spoke about this during a big meeting in Beijing, China’s capital city.
Last year, even with some challenges, China’s economy did really well. They made almost 135 trillion yuan (that’s about $18.6 trillion)! To give you an idea, that’s a huge number with lots of zeros! And guess what? This helped the world’s economy a lot—about 30% of the growth came from China! 🌍📈
China is also focusing on new and cool technologies. There are three big areas they’re excited about:
- New Industries: Think robots, renewable energy, and more!
- New Business Models: Like how online shopping became a big deal.
- New Forms of Commerce: Maybe someday drones will deliver our packages! 🚁📦
These cool areas now make up over 18% of China’s economy and are growing fast!
High-tech manufacturing (that’s making super advanced stuff) grew by 8.9%. That’s faster than other types of factories. They’re making lots of neat things like:
- New Energy Vehicles: Over 13 million electric cars were made! That’s more than 60% of all the electric cars made in the whole world! 🚗⚡
- Integrated Circuits: These are tiny chips that go into computers and phones. China exported over 1.1 trillion yuan worth of them—a record high! 💻📱
China is also spending more on research and development (R&D), which means they’re inventing and discovering new things. They spent over 3.6 trillion yuan on R&D, which is 8.3% more than before! 🧪🔬
The private businesses in China are doing great too. They exported 64.7% of all goods, which is more than last year!
Mr. Zheng also mentioned that China made big progress in special areas like:
- Artificial Intelligence (AI) 🤖
- Aerospace (like rockets and space stuff) 🚀
- Biopharmaceuticals (medicine) 💊
- Marine Engineering (building things in the sea) 🌊
- New Materials (creating cool new stuff) 🧱
